Try and try again...

Morning journeyers, I hope you all had a lovely weekend (a long one in the UK :) ) ...my musings today was inspired by growing carrots, or not growing them in fact! Last year we had an amazing crop, this year the whole lot failed to even germinate, first of all I was puzzled and continued to wait hopefully, then I felt despondant and then finally this weekend I thought 'right time to try again' and have done a second hopeful planting 🌱
The Wood element of Spring is all about hope and tenacity, the creative force makes the energy of Spring incredibly dynamic and 'pushy', this can mean that if this strong energy is not able to 'birth' and express itself it can lead to feelings of despondency and depression as the energy turns in on itself.
So if you are feeling despondant about something that has yet to birth, reconnect to the hope within the Wood element and try again.
Have a glorious Spring day, the sun is shining again in Devon 🌞🌞🌞🌱🌿🌞 lots of love Carol xx

Ideas feed fire...

Here's hoping that you have had some time to feel the warmth of grandfather sun this weekend. Here in the UK we have a bank holiday today. There will be many bbqs! This picture was ours that we turned into a sitting around fire by adding wood to the charcoal embers, just as in the five elements wood (ideas, plans, visions, creativity, spring) feeds fire (joy, passion, blossoming, excitement, summer). So what small sticks from spring are you feeding the first flush of your fire element with. Summer is getting closer. Enjoy! Sarah-Jayne x

These roses in my garden have been tight in bud for a few weeks, then suddenly they burst open showing their radiant beauty. They could hold tight no longer..they emerged into the world for all to see, in all their glory. Where might you emerge out in all your glory this weekend? Enjoy whatever you do! Sarah-Jayne xx

The path is always the path...

As I wandered around the garden first thing looking for inspiration for a post I was struck by the different rates of growth during this glorious season of greeness. I noticed that the bluebells are done, the cherry blossom is done, the ferns are still elegantly unfurling, the budleia is growing rapidly and the willow is just sprouting...each plant is perfectly doing its own thing, not wasting time and energy looking over at the next plant who is growing faster or taller.
So my musings to myself and to share today is that our path is our path and only we can choose the right pace to walk it that is completely perfect for us...with seasonal blessing and love Carol xx 💚🌱

Morning journeyers 🌞🌱 this morning I was inspired by these yummy salad leaves that are thriving in my polytunnel, it reminded me that there is harvest to be found in every season. In some five element maps the harvest time/Earth element is in the centre rather than between Summer/Fire and Autumn/Metal reminding us that the Earth element holds the balance and transition points throughout the year. So amongst the tenderness of Spring look for those satisfying harvests that reward us and keep us looking forward and planning for more, whether they are in our gardens or in our lives :) let us in the thread below know what you are harvesting...have a gorgeous day 🌿🌱🍏💚 love Carol xx

Pruning and weeding...

This full moon has got me feeling the need to prune back and weed out my goals, visions and areas of my growth so I can really focus my energy towards small and sustainable successes particularly in my work. We are in the time of year where everything is growing apace and pushing through with the energy of the wood element. It is exciting and can be a little chaotic with 'things' sprouting everywhere. It can be intense and overwhelming, where we start feeling like we can't see the 'wood for the trees'. In the law of the five elements it is the metal element that controls wood. Think pruning, cutting and weeding with metal tools. Also timing, routine, hard structures (like spreadsheets) and money all are associated with the metal element. So under the light of this full moon how can you get efficient? What needs cutting back and weeding out, so releasing more energy for your 'right', 'true' (see full moon post) growth? The photo is our grape I hard pruned, on advice, to within an inch of its life. It's coming back very strongly now. When we inherited it it took up 1/8 of the garden. Now it will climb up a METAL structure and we will be able to harvest the grapes with ease. How very energy efficient! Enjoy pruning and weeding on all levels, love Sarah-Jayne xx

The Truth moon...

We have a full moon tonight. Its the hare moon...in honour of this time when they can be seen boxing in the fields. The planet mars is in cahoots with the energy around this weekend also. This is a time of telling yourself the truth of where you really are. It might be unsettling. There can be some feisty and fighty energy around. Rather than blaming others or getting into a row, direct this energy to help with fighting off old limiting beliefs or plans that were made before you were who you are now. Then use this truth finding to propel you forward on your expanding moon-lit path. The times are intense, however the possibility for progress in your true direction is huge. Enjoy! Sarah-Jayne xxx p.s.in the UK if you look to the east/southeast at sunset you will see the moon and mars rising together over the next two days

Gate of hope...

Morning journeyers, in Devon Spring has found its fullness, the torrential rain of last week and the extra sunshine has filled the gardens with greeness. This is the view down to my orchard garden through the willow arch, the green is so intense and inviting!
Gate acupuncture points are linked to the liver meridian of Wood element and help us make transitions more smoothly and 'Gate of hope' is one of my favourites; situated on the edge of the ribs it helps us to take that next hopeful best step forward in your Spring plans.
Have a glorious day and share your next best step :)

Allow surprises to inspire you...

Morning journeyers. ..over the weekend I have been pondering how surprising Spring can be, I have been loving and tending my garden for almost twenty years and yet every Spring something pops up to surprise and WOW me. This year it was these gorgeous honesty flowers which I can't recall seeing before. This element of surprise can also be mirrored by our own internal Spring and Wood element as our Winter dreaming may fuel bursts of inspirations and new ideas which seem to come from nowhere but actually have been perculating and gestating unseen waiting for the moment to show themselves.
Have a gorgeous and let us know if you have been inspired by any surprises so far this Spring 🌱🌿💚lots of love Carol xx

Let your dreams burst out!...

It's a chilly, sunny morning here in Mid Devon. After a busy week it's a gardening day. This cherry tree in our garden is dripping with blossom and buzzing with bees. As this is a new to us tree I was so excited when the first tiny patch of blossom came out. Then overnight the whole tree BURST out. It was quick and unexpected and extremely beautiful. Spring is the time for visions and plans, for seeds of ideas to germinate and burst forward into growth. Just as in gardening, it can be surprising which seeds germinate and thrive and which ones don't. So take some time this weekend to check out where your dreams, plans and ideas are bursting. It may be unexpected, and hopefully extremely beautiful. Have a wonderful weekend, Sarah-Jayne
