Good morning journeyers, as we drop into Autumn and start our week this a reminder to remember the importance of breath. In Five element theory the breath is linked to the Lung meridian and the Metal element which steps to the fore in the Autumn time.
Most of us spend our time shallow breathing especially when we are stressed but if we can reconnect to a deep breathing pattern we can naturally help our body to de-stress.
So if you are feeling over stretched and stressed try this following breathing sequence which has been shown to reduce the amount of stress hormones we produce, stop those nerve cells firing and so calm and relax us.
With your tongue resting on the back of your top teeth breathe in for a count of 4, then hold your breath for a count of 7, and then breathe out for a count of 8. Repeat this 3 or 4 times without a break. Now notice how you are feeling.
So lovely journeyers take a deep breath and step into your Autumn week 🍁🍂🍃
lots of love Carol xx
