Fill your own well first....

It's the season of giving and many of us run ourselves ragged making the seasonal holiday happy for everybody else. The enduring Water element helps us keep going through busy, stressful times, but unless we regularly plug ourselves back into a replenishing source of energy, our well will run dry and when this happens we can be left feeling exhausted, depleted and overwhelmed. Self care means always refilling our own well first and then encouraging other people to do the same. Winter is a great time to explore ways of self caring, it is the most introspective season and lends itself well to resting and stillness as we see happening in nature. How we choose to replenish our energy reserves is very individual, I love spending quiet time alone, walking in nature and having long lie-ins, other people might prefer something more active and social, whatever you do make sure it is just for you and check in afterwards that you feel energised and more centred.
Wishing you some seasonal stillness in this lull between the Christmas and New Year feastings, lots of love Carol xx
