Find your flow~~~~

So are you feeling back in the groove yet after the Christmas break or are you struggling to find your flow? I imagine most of us, including me, are the feeling the latter. It's really easy to feel stuck during Winter, this time of the gorgeous Water element; our physical energy levels are generally low as we are mostly tucked up inside doing minimal exercise, we are inwardly focused and love to indulge that lovely sloth-like cosy feeling. Add in a Christmas break, relaxing, socialising and lots of food and warming drinks wink emoticon it is so easy to become stationary/frozen. So how can we get some momentum going? Here are some wintery/watery tips to get your flow going...
~ Drink lots of water, it's easy to get dehydrated in centrally heated houses as well as indulging yummy seasonal drinks. So get rehydrated by building up your daily water levels a glass at a time. If cold water switches you off try warm water with lemon, ginger and a couple of cardamom pods, delicious.
~ Take hot and cold showers to stimulate sluggish lymph in the body. I know they sound unpleasant but really they can be wonderfully stimulating. Start with getting nice and warm in the shower and then slowly reduce the temperature to it feels slightly uncomfortable, hold there for 30 seconds and then raise the temperature again, do this several times ending on cool. Finish off by briskly rubbing down with a rough towel...wonderful!
~ Next move your body, water loves to flow and its power and energy is in its movement. The kidney and bladder meridians run through the feet and up the legs so simply walking will stimulate some water flow, if the weather outside isn't inviting try running up and down the stairs a few times. Once Water is flowing momentum will build.
~ Externalise all the deep dreaming that is happening, find a journal and write it down. At this time of year it's natural to have a head, heart and body full of ideas, by writing them down you are creating movement and giving them some power ready for planting in the Spring time.
Anyway I hope these help you get moving and feeling the wonderful healing, cleansing power of the Water element, have a lovely day, love Carol xx
