My musings this morning are about flow and focus; it feels like the deep slow flow of Winter is starting is pick up pace as the Spring's Wood energy adds in dynamism and speed. Our Water element is an amazing source of sustainable power and stamina and if we can learn how to harness it we can use it to bring our Winter dreaming to fruition.
Water can be both still and calm and fast flowing and dynamic and what makes the difference is how tightly is it held by boundaries. On the control cycle of the Five elements it is the Earth element that controls Water and the smaller the channel the water flows through the greater the potential for speed and transformation. When water moves at speed it becomes infused by life giving oxygen and creates a vortex of energy which is life enhancing and has a life of its own.
So how do we translate this to the Water element in us as we head towards Spring? We have spent the Winter 'blue sky dreaming' fantastical ideas for the year ahead but as the energy is picking up now is the time to give those some focus by getting in touch with the holding, boundaried energy of Earth.
Firstly get grounded, both the kidney and bladder meridian of the Water element run through the feet so you could stand bare footed on the earth and really plug in to the solidity beneath your feet, if this seems a little hard core you could do some water paddling by putting the plug in while showering and mindfully walking on the spot while imagining the energy of the earth coming into the soles of your feet.
Secondly pick one dream you have and begin to focus on it, when you do this you are are metaphorically narrowing the river banks so increasing momentum and breathing life into the dream.
Finally start adding some lighter food into your diet, try eating slightly more raw food each day to begin to bring more flow into the body after a Winter of languishing in warming, heavy carbohydrates.
So how does that feel? Is there a dream ready for a bit more focus and momentum and do you feel ready to jump in and swim with it? Anyway share your thoughts with us in the comments below we would love to hear them...tomorrow at our weekly meeting we will be beginning to focus on a couple of our big dreams for the year ahead so it would be great to know we have company, with lots of love Carol xx PS currently high winds and hale here, I'm sticking to porridge for breakfast!
