These beautiful frozen rosehips taught me a lesson this morning. It was one of those morning's. We were running late for school, the car was covered in ice, the child was being uncooperative and the dog was playing up. Soo get son in car, scrape car clear...then the window mechanism breaks..glass seems to be hanging precariously out of car door. At this point I was seriously loosing my cool. So after (gentley) driving the boy to school, I drive to my local mechanic. Now instead of the lovely dog walk in the fields with the hedgerows and views I had planned I am walking the dog through the local industrial estate. Moaning to myself as I walk about how hard my life is (1st world problems) I caught sight of these beautiful rosehips, their vibrant red glowing out from the frozenness all around them. They were stunning. Looking around me yes there is grease, oil and noise. There was also animal burrows, vibrant plants and beautiful frozen patterns. Seriously get a grip SJ!! So I carry on walking. Dog happily rolling in any frozen grass he can find (verge or field HE is not bothered) ...and then. ..by magic...I bump into an old friend who have I been meaning to see for ages. She is driving this way to work. So good to see her, she had some magic words to say that I really, really needed to hear. No way I would've seen her if I was in fields. Thankyou broken car window..magic!
