Morning Journeyers. There are Four fire/ Summer Meridians The first pair is the HEART and SMALL INTESTINE...here's some insights...Enjoy, Sarah-Jayne
The Heart meridian runs on both sides of the body, starting at the armpit and ending at the side of the little finger nail. In Chinese medicine it is called the SOVERIGN RULER which directs action with clear insight. It’s peak time is 11am-1pm- a time when we might be doing work we love, or spending time with close people in our lives. A ‘closed down’ heart struggles to receive and feel (think heart of stone), whereas a wide open heart may tell everyone everything! (think wearing the heart on the sleeve).
The Small Intestine meridian runs on both sides of the body, starting at the outside end of the little finger nail up the outside of the arm, does a drop over the shoulder blades and then up the neck, across side of the face towards the nose and then ends at the ear. This meridian is all about DISCERNMENT and sorting the wheat from the chaff, the pure from the impure. It controls digestion and absorption of nourishing thoughts words, foods and ideas, especially those which are heard (see where the meridian ends). It’s peak time is 1pm-3pm, the time when we are often digesting and absorbing our lunch! Indigestion and colic can be problems with this meridian.
