We have a lot of rain in Devon, particularly Mid and North Devon, those warm, wet, westerly winds whip over the moors and deposit beautiful water everywhere, filling the rivers and flooding the land. This makes it literally a 'lush' place to live, this time of year is pretty squelchy under foot, perfect for wellies! ☁💧☁💧but it is also the archetypal 'green and pleasant land' the grass is usually green all year, it has good pastures to support farmland and there are wonderful wildlife havens in green spaces everywhere. The simple gift here is that the Water element supports life and is fundamental for all life to thrive.
The Winter season, the season of the Water element gives us a chance to nourish and support this essential, fundamental aspect of life in ourselves. Rest and keeping hydrated are simple ways we can do this, preparing the ground for our seeds to grow come Springtime....how absolutely 'lush' is that!!
So make the most of Winter, it is easy to wish it away, dreaming wistfully of Spring and Summer (I do this regularly) and keep nourishing your gorgeous, 'lush' Water element ...have a glorious day and let us know where you live and if you have boggy ground too, love Carol xx
