Did you know that the brain is 75% water and that in the Five elements the brain, memory, mental agility and concentration are all linked to the Water element? It is water that gives energy and flow to our mind and thoughts, enabling us to dip into memory pools and flush out new ideas that help us to be creative. I always think the network of neurons in our brain is like a river system, continually moving, flowing, joining up, splitting off as new pathways are forged, just like the creation of new ideas in our minds.
So when you are feeling mentally stuck, just check when you last had a glass of water, could you be dehydrated? If so take 5 to sip a glass of water mindfully, treat your body and mind gently like a dry river bed, slowly rolling the first mouthful around your mouth, breathing over it so your body gets ready to receive it. This is also a great technique to reduce the amount of toilet trips you need to make, as your body is able to absorb more of what you drink.
Have a lovely day, it's beautiful here in Devon, love Carol x
